 Society of Illustrators         The society of Illustrators or also called the Museum of Illustration is a museum located near Lexington Avenue  just two train stops away from our school using the M and 6 train. When arriving there for the first time it didn't even look like a museum. Without the sign outside it would look like a regular building in New York. Entering the build was a whole different story as it had 4 different floors filled with different art and illustrations. The purpose of the Society of Illustrators is to promote the the art of illustration and its history through time to now in the present. The use of illustration was what being a graphic design was back then when there was such thing as digital art or tools.  Photoshop blend modes      For this assignment we learned more about photoshop and its tools and methods like commands and where to access different properties. This assignment was more towards the use of blend modes in photoshop. Blend modes are merge colors and patterns between your background and foreground to create cool effects and surprising new images. To access blend mode you have to first get to layers and it will be the second row in the layer properties. Out of the 25 different blend mode option my favorite is the first one. The first one being subtract mode. Subtract mode, subtracts pixel values from the base layer. This means that the blend mode subtract pixels by removing the brightness. This can be used in other learning task if we have to improve the quality of an images or pictures by making it clear or darker depending on the task. Branded Print Ad      When creating the final version of the advertisement I struggle to really show what my business was. My business is in the electronic industry. The main product is the creation and use of holograms in the modern world. As shown in the advertisement I have placed a hologram projection under my Official brand logo to make it stand out more than the other images. I also to decreased the opacity or the transparency of my logo to make it seem like its actually a hologram. As for the colors used in the advertisement I went with Light Blue and Dark Blue and Black. Black was used to ensure that the logo white curves would be visible while Light Blue and Dark Blue fit the colors of the holograms which relate to the other pictures. Besides the advertisement being more directed the use of holograms for business it would be able to be used in other services.  Logo Developments 25 pencil sketches      When creating the 25 pencil sketches I was at first struggling with what logo designs to create. For the first portion of the 2 period class I was at a loss not knowing what to really do. I was starting to regret my business concept and was planning on changing it. My initial idea for my brand was to be related to the electronic industry. The main product of the brand was the creation and use of holograms. When attempting to sketch my own concept of holograms it was difficult as I didn't know were to start. Although I start to get some ideas by doing some research of current business and design that were already created. There were some design that I was inspired by that I recreated in the sketches such as the design from 16-19.
